I am 15/f and have been involved with scams in the past for modeling. They always want us to pay money. Including Barbizon, which I thought they were not a scam..are they? What are some REAL modeling companies for modeling and is there any in New Jersey...if so, what are they called?
solidadvice4teens answered Tuesday October 26 2010, 5:13 pm: Try contacting SAG (Screen Actors Guild of America) which is the union for all TV, radio, film actors. in Canada it's ACTRA. Tell them where you are from and that you want a list of reputable agents not only for those who handle modeling but also handle commercials, film, TV.
Don't sign with anyone not on their lists. There's good reason if an agency isn't. That's where I would start. Anyone that insists you buy this or that or get portfolios done that cost money is scamming you. You only need a basic snap-shot or 8*10 they color photo-copy to get a decent agent or gigs. Good luck! [ solidadvice4teens's advice column | Ask solidadvice4teens A Question ]
