Is it normal for your period to become light to almost non-existant at night? It seems that no matter what day im on whether or not ive had a heavy flow, my period just dwindles to nothing at night, and kicks back up an hour or so after i wake up. I looked it up and it seems most people get a heavier flow at night, which is what used to happen to me.
Is this normal?
Btw im 20 years old and ive been getting my period for around 7 years now

Peeps answered Thursday September 30 2010, 5:06 am: Many women have a lighter flow at night because they lay down. The horizontal way our bodies lay can allow menstrual blood to stay within the vagina and dry some. You are also less active at night so the body isn't pushing and pulling down there as much as it is when, say, you are walking around your house for a few hours picking up dirty laundry and getting things cleaned up.
It's completely normal and healthy. The body doesn't projectile the blood out so it's natural to have some stay in the vagina or uterus for awhile while you are asleep. It isn't harmful and is quite natural. [ Peeps's advice column | Ask Peeps A Question ]
