christina answered Monday September 20 2010, 6:50 pm: Dating someone older is always hard because you end up having conflicting views on life and certain situations and it can definitely be hard. I definitely feel where you're coming from. My boyfriend is 7 years older than I am, and our views on some things are conflicting, but we get along well because I'm more mature than most people my age. I mean, I don't know any 19 year olds who live on their own (and college doesn't count) without their parents help.
Anyways, if you think that the conflicting views are a big enough problem to break you up and that you don't think you can agree to disagree, then I guess that breaking up is your solution. Just say that the relationship has been great but that you really don't see your problems being worked out & that it's starting to make you view everything about the relationship differently. Surely he will understand. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
