There are TONS of websites out there that you can use to cure your boredom quickly.
You can go to YouTube and watch videos for hours. You just type in something you're interested in and BOOM you're set for quite some time. If you like watching funny animals, too, they have a load of cute things pets do.
There are also free online games like Gaia Online, Evony, or even games from Pop! Games (like Plants vs. Zombies). Right now I'm playing a game called GemCraft and it's pretty entertaining (much like Desktop Tower Defense). It's online and free, too, of course.
