Political Organisation Hi, im thinking about starting a political organisation? My aim is to increase political participation i.e. posting leaflets around election time to give people a view of candidates without the interference of party or media bias.
I also want to let people know about what their local representative or politician is doing for them. I would also like to hold meetings with local people about what they want their politicians to do for them.
Im sure you get the general idea of what i want to start. My question is, how do i go about starting something like this? Do i need government permission? Do i need to do anything else to ensure im working within the law. Of course i may need donations...do these need to be declared? Im hoping someone on advicenators will have answers for me, so thanks in advance :)

Don't waste time, it's all contradiction, American politics is a decoy for a greater Gov. it's fake, we really don't know the real people in charge. What? I sound crazy? It's obvious. And this country isn't for the people, cause if it was, I wouldn't be in an evil infested cespole run by the rich. Who have no heart or logic. Classism is real, This is USA, why do the rich get better education? Why are we seperated? And it's not even racism, it's classism. Money is evil. History always repeats itself. US won't last forever. I like the place that I live but don't like the people in charge or how it's run. It can be so much better, but people are brainwashed, Republican or Democrat, or whatever. Just won't work because certain groups will feel seperated & betrayed. You can't have seperate parties, it's illogical, there will always be opposition. We are too free. US should re-design it's way of running things. Theres so many things that can be done but no action. Lies, money, classism, & contradiction. ]
No, you don't need government permission to do this sort of thing.
If you wish to be a non-profit corporation then yes, you have some significant legal hurdles to handle. This is necessary if you want people's donations to be tax deductible. For this sort of thing, you will want to consult a lawyer.
Furthermore, the US federal government and most state and city governments have passed laws requiring disclosure of contributions and expenditures related to campaigning for office, and in many cases have imposed limits on the size of contributions.
If you are interested starting a political organization, I would highly recommend that you research other similar organizations and copy whichever of their aspects you find most useful.
Unfortunately, I think that without a political agenda that you wish to support, you will find it hard to find people interested in supporting you.
Lastly, if your aim is to increase political participation, I must ask you this:
Would the World/Country/State/County/City be better or worse if the people that don't vote started to?
Keep in mind that these people either don't care about the outcome, or aren't willing to put in the effort necessary to make an informed decision. ]
