How do you become Self-Motivated? I'm not driven at all, in any area of my life.
Partly because I'm depressed, but I can't blame it all on that. I'm going to try to get help with that soon.
I just want to hear from some people who are self motivated and ask what it is that keeps you so focused and driven with your goals.
thanks.

I, too, suffer from depression, as well as bipolar disorder. I, too, have a difficult time with motivation.
When I struggle I find it's because I have compromised my small, daily routines. As soon as I get back to getting to bed at a decent hour, waking up early (like 7-7:30 for me), eating a good breakfast, having coffee, taking a shower, getting dressed, and following through with some plan I have lined up for a set time (usualy arount 8:30-9)... This morning routine, if routinely followed, works to keep me on track, even so much as making the mundane tasks on my list a little less tiresome.
Change doesn't work like a light switch, it doesn't just stay because you want it to. Your brain is where it's at from years of practice, now you need to practice what will help you retrain your brain to be more motivationally oriented.
My suggestion is that you start with schedule... If you don't have one, make one. Make a schedule for your bedtime and waking time routines. Let me know how it goes because there is more than one way to get what you want in this life, even in this minute!
Good luck,

you need to find something you want to do. a hobby maybe or maybe just a daily goal like today i am going to walk to the shops// just because i can.
now id love to be an olypic gymnast im a teenager. so there is no way that will happen. however i like to train myself liek i am. because it gets me motivated.
secondly if you get distracted on your goals.. you need to remind yourself of things. for example, i know a girl that decided she was going to change her eating habits. she lived on her own so she was able to do this. she moved her choccy bars.. and made the choocy bar draw into a healthy snack draw. with things like cereal bars. that reminder sh was changing her eating habits drove her towards throwing away that choclate althogether... and so on.
lastly.. you need to WANT the goal. im a gymnast cheerleader person.. while my best mate loves nothing more than to run. if someone came up to her saying by the end of the month you'll have a double fulll on floor. it would mean nothing to her.. she wouldnt train because she wouldnt want that full like someone like me.
and vice vbersa.... if someone said to me... by the end of the month youll be able to do that track x amount of time in 4 minutes it would mean nothing because i tumble... i dont run.. i dont WANT to be able to run.
you need to want the goal your aiming for... so more importantly it needs to be realitic
on a final note remember this; goals need to be '"SMART" goals' type thatinto google and itll give youa wicked definiation! ]
