Only a woman could handle the RADICAL RAGING HORMONES that storm in like paratroopers; prepared to ruin your LIFE, so be careful what you wish for, babe, try to believe that once it comes- it's yours for about 40 years, yeah, isn't that something to wish for!

DearAbby92 answered Saturday August 7 2010, 11:16 pm: You are still very young, don't worry about when you'll start it. I got when I was tweleve, almost thirteen. Some girls dont get it til they're 18!
All you can do is be prepared. Carry around a purse with pads/tampons in it for an unexpected start. If you feel like it may be coming soon, you can wear panty liners for a little protection until you get a heavy flow.
Talk to your mom or someone you trust about it. They can tell you its a natural thing that most women go through in their lives, and it's nothing to be afraid of.
bliz answered Saturday August 7 2010, 9:14 pm: OK, this can be complicated. The average age is different in every country and culture, race and season of the year. The average age changes, in the US is has been getting lower, so don't compare yourself to you mom, aunts or older sisters or people in history.
And the average age varies with whose research you are reading. Different methods of collecting information are used, different people may have been included or excluded. People are not reliable in remembering when they started.
So, from a number of different current sources (Research has been done within 5 years) I have gotten:
12.8 years
13.9 years
11.7 years
12.45 years
12.5 years
So... you are quite normal where you are, and still will be a year or more from now.
