Fearne answered Saturday January 29 2011, 8:02 am: I agree - the maple syrup diet is an incredibly bad idea. Detox diets do not work, and such a severe diet will cause you to obsess over food all the time because you're so hungry - trust me. Not only will this mess up your digestion and probably give you constipation from getting no fibre, but it will leave you with low energy levels and possibly anemia because of the lack of iron in your diet. This can give you bad mood swings and cause you to feel faint, or even pass out. Again, i should also know because I have been anemic from being on a ridiculous diet, now I have lost weight with a controlled balanced diet and it works just as well.
Check how healthy your are using this BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator before going on ANY kind of diet - [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) [ Fearne's advice column | Ask Fearne A Question ]

The human body have natural ability to remove toxins. There is no scientific basis for "detox" diets.
