The toddler is easy; you just need to distract them. If that lower lip starts to quiver, just break out something fun, or put on a favourite movie. They forget why they're upset really fast!

Babies are tricky, because they can't tell you what they're thinking. There are a few steps to follow.
- check to see if the diaper is wet/dirty. That's the most common cause.
- do the good ol' cuddle and bounce. Don't bounce too vigorously, and try singing while you do it!
- check to see if they're hungry. Make up a bottle, which often works.
- sometimes they just cry for the heck of it. There will be a complaining note to the crying. If you've tried everything else, just put them down in bed for a bit. They might just be cranky.
