I was in a ver similar situation. My ex and I continued to be close after the breakup, immediatly after the breakup, because he wanted to stay friends. But it's sooo hard to do that RIGHT after a breakup. You have to give it more time to let your feelings separate or else you're only going to realize that it's as bad as when you were dating, and you're never going to get over him.
So here's what I suggest. Talk to your ex and tell him that what you two are doing right now is not healthy. Tell him you of course wnat to be friendly with him and you certainly don't want any hard feelings but that it's hard to be friends when you still have feelings for him. And tell him you want to commit to this decision. You can still talk to him, just don't do it as much. And you can still hang out but maybe not as often and maybe with more people around. YOu can be friendly without being close friends.

You don't have to stop talking to him or being with him completely, but not all the time. If you want to stay friends with him then ignoring him is a bad idea, but you do need more space. If you were super close with him and you could have serious talks with him then maybe mention to him that you need a little more space, but if you weren't then don't.
