Dog Carrying Toys Like Puppies
My cousin, who I live with, has a dog.The dogs name is Reese. She's a pitbull, I dont know if she's mixed with anything or not. And she's like a year old...
My cousin has a son thats 10 months old.
Well Reese has just recently taken an interest in acting like 3 of the babies toys are puppies.
The toys are a trumpet that has music, a book that has a squeaky toy in it, & a rubberduck.
The dog carries them around, licks them clean, hides them in corners under clothes, hides them in the bed, acts just like they are puppies.
& one time she lost the rubber duck and cried/whined until we found it..
She's only started to do this a month ago..Why is she doing this?!
its very cute...but it's annoying to have toys in your bed or floor every morning when you wake up.

Some dogs will act like they are pregnant or have puppies before they go into heat (the dog version of having a period). Not all dogs will do this, but it really is not abnormal. If the dog was recently fixed, then she might do that for a while until her hormones calm down. Otherwise, getting the dog fixed might solve the problem... unless there's the possiblity that the dog is already pregnant, sometimes pregnant dogs will act like they already have puppies, and if the dog is a year, she's capable of having puppies if given the opportunity to breed, though it isn't the healthiest thing for a dog that young.

this happened to me with my dog precious she does this like once a year but it just started happening like 3 years ago.i dont know why they do it but i think its just there motherly instinct precious is almost 8 and she never had puppies so to me i just think its her was to be a mom even though its toys. when she would do it she would be sitting up by face on the bed with all her toys ( we always buy her squeeky toys she loves them) so she had at least 8 toys on the bed all together lick them clean flip it with her nose and lick the other side, the first time she ever did that i pushed all the toys off the bed cause i dont like them on my bed there all dirty but she picked them all up one by one and put them back and cleaned them again. i use to annoy her and touch them all just so she had to clean them again haha im mean :) but ya theres really nothing you can do about it sorry to tell you but just watch it,its cute and it wont last forever , hope i helped.
