Turn on some music, and gather all the loose things in a pile in your room. Preferably in the middle. Empty our your bins, organize your wardrobe, discarding any things that you don't wear or if they're dirty, put them in the wash. Organize any shelves and drawers too. Make your bed up properly.
Now the pile of stuff in the middle of your room, if it has a place, or is useful put it away. If you haven't used it in at least six months, throw it out. If you're not sure about something, think realistically, will you really need it? Or can you live without it just fine.
Stay positive, and don't get distracted, work hard for an hour or two, and it'll all be done quickly, and you'll feel a lot better about your achievement.

Put away the clean clothes and do a load of laundry. Smooth out your bed, sofa, or any other furniture you have. Organize items on all the flat surfaces. Take a vacuum and vacuum all the noticeable dust and dirt. Put things like shoes and bags lying around into the closet. Listening to music makes it go by faster and will motivate you to clean more quickly [ maxgrey's advice column | Ask maxgrey A Question ]
