Iam terified of needles so bad that when i go to the hospital i still lock myself in the bathroom and they have to hold me down, but something in me wanted a tattoo so bad. i got one on my ankle going down to my foot. I was so nervous i siked myself out. It felt like a cold pinch the first touch then it just felt like someone was drawing on my skin with a pen that was running out of ink, It got hot then went numb and all i felt was heat and cold. To tell you the truth wiping it with a napkin was the most painful part.

I have two tattoos, both are relatively small but the pain differed hugely. The one on my wrist wasn't terrible but the one near my elbow was alot worse. Tattoos on the bone tend to be worse and ones that require alot of time and colour will obviously be more painful.
The pain is like a deep scratching/burning and afterwards it will feel tender and sore. If you're getting a large tattoo which takes a long time, you may find that the area goes slightly numb and the pain is less noticeable as you get used to it.
Anyone who says tattoos aren't painful at all is lying, they will always hurt to some extent. It's impossible to say just how much because everyone is different but on the whole, it is bearable and worth it for the end product. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
