how do you flirt if we are just texting though?
just to get out of the awkwardness if any.

There's no need to be overally flirty over text. Just simple things like 'it'd be nice to see you soon' work wonders. Another nice idea is to occasionally use their name, for example 'Hey [insert name], what are you up to?' Use faces to change the tone - for example, 'I'm just getting ready for school' sounds different from 'I'm just getting ready for school :P'.

Don't overdo it and try to stay casual. Don't text him ALL the time and don't make every text a 'flirty' text. It's okay just to chat casually with constant flirting, the occasional slightly flirtacious text will do the trick.
