Obviously if the plane crashes, wearing a seatbelt is unlikely to make a whole lot of difference but landing and taking off can be bumpy, so it's there to keep you in place. That's why the seatbelt signs also come on when you hit turbulence. [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
