What happens if you don't wear your seatbelt in a plane?

Hey Everyone:

I would like to know what happens if when your on a plane that you don't wear a seatbelt while taking off or landing?

The seatbelt is there as a precaution.

Obviously if the plane crashes, wearing a seatbelt is unlikely to make a whole lot of difference but landing and taking off can be bumpy, so it's there to keep you in place. That's why the seatbelt signs also come on when you hit turbulence.

Nothing happens, you'd just stay in your seat, but I think there is a higher chance (but still incredibly low) of crashing when you are taking off/landing so it is just a safety precaution.
