I am 15 year old female, and I am so close with my parents especially my mum. We are practically best friends. But lately i have been feeling very irritable, especially when my parents start touching each other, and talk about their sex lives. It is just so annoying. Like at family parties i have to walk out because i can't stand the talk. For example, your mom is a horn dog, or we have sex everyday. Gah! i am ready to rip my hair out. I get so angry i walk out. Grr. Can you please tell me why i am so irritated and sensitive with this subject?

I'm right there with you... You're irritated because the details about you're parents' sex lives is not really something that you should know about. Hell... I don't even like to think about my parents' sex lives.... ... ... Well you could just talk to them and ask them to stop talking about that around you... or you could just keep doing what you're doing and walk out. That's what I'd do. You, as their child, being irritated about your parents discussing their sex lives is completely natural.

There are certain boundaries that should be in place, whether you're friends with your mom or not. There's nothing wrong with knowing your parents have sex, but details are totally unnecessary.
Maybe you should have a talk with your parents. Let them know that it's great that they have such a stellar sex life, but it's really none of your business and you'd like to keep it that way. [ NinjaNeer's advice column | Ask NinjaNeer A Question ]
