Truth is that no one can answer that question categorically. In fact, no one can answer any question categorically since, in a way, we cannot ever be sure of anything. This is the cornerstone of good scientific practice, and it has allowed us to evolve our knowledge over the years.
But... that does not mean that one should consider the existence of a deity any more than one should consider the existence of an invisible unicorn, an unidiscovered & unsupported form of energy, magic, whatever.
The burden of proof falls on the person making the claim. This is the way things work- and good thing too otherwise ANY crazy old assertion would be just as valid. As it stands now we have had thousands of religions with thousands of deities over the centuries, and not one has provided one ounce of evidence. That makes them all equal- and all equally unlikely (i.e. at the bottom of the barrel with the unicorn).
The question you asked is a common one. It is not always that relevant though since I could not categorically (beyond the shadow of any doubt) tell you that I exist. A better phrasing would be "do we have any reason whatsoever to consider the existence of a God." And the answer to that one is a resounding "no". [ Alin75's advice column | Ask Alin75 A Question ]
GrnMtnPoet answered Friday April 16 2010, 11:49 pm: Oh jeez. I'm on the fence. I believe that there is some level of order amid the chaos, but I am not religious and I can't stand the bible. If you're looking for a realistic take on religion, watch the documentary "Religulous".
Anyway...
If you look around you you'll be amazed by how well everything fits within this seemingly random world. Math, science, nature - it's all interconnected and infinitely beautiful and fascinating. I don't think there's a big guy looking down on us, but I believe everything has a purpose and we are all connected subconsciously. Do I have supporting claims? Umm... Not really. I mean, I have always felt a spiritual connection to the planet and the people around me (when I'm not flipping them off in traffic). I think organized religion is very manipulative and your belief or disbelief in God can make you an easy target for other people's agendas. [ GrnMtnPoet's advice column | Ask GrnMtnPoet A Question ]

yes God does exits. just take a minute and think one of the greatest evidence we have is the bible which helps us understand more about his works.
lets say when something good happens in your life, or when you wake up each morning or each time you are blessed, that is God's works. he does exits because he sent his son to die on the cross, he does exits because each time we sin we are forgiving, he does exit because hell is real and there is someone we can follow to keep us away from going there which is him and only him! My personal belief, no. But it's honestly everyones own opinion. [ Amanda421's advice column | Ask Amanda421 A Question ]
