Why?

Question Posted Wednesday March 24 2010, 11:02 pm

My best friend of 7 years and I are fighting a lot recently. I hate when we fight and we never fought before. He is a boy and I am a girl, we are both fifteen. I know we still care about each other, I just hate that we fight and the we started fighting more after a rumor went around the school that we like each other. Why do you think we're fighting? Because of the rumor? Thanks

Wow! This is tough but the best thing for you to do is just talk it out with him. Wow, 7 years that's a lot and i would say try hard to work it out because you guys have a very special relationship here, if anyone spreads rumors about your friendship ignore them and tell him how you feel about those rumors I'm sure he'll understand.

It sounds to me, that the rumor brought up either yours, his or both true feelings for each other. When a person doesn't want to deal with an emotion, especially boys, they tend to fight or find fault. This is a way to avoid the subject,.
Also a boy and a girl can be JUST friends, but not for long. One or the other will eventually feel more. It is the nature of men and women.

The fighting is due to NOT COMMUNICATING AND NOT BEING HONEST WITH EACH OTHER.

I don't' know if you have discussed it with him or not, if not, do. If you have and the fighting continues, its time to give each other a break. A true friendship will always endure.

Good luck
