If a couple has been together for ~1 year, how often should they see / talk to each other? Yes, every relationship is different. But not talking for months at a time is clearly .. not good, and neither is calling each other up every two minutes of the day.

If someone has been with someone for a year, I'd like to say they would talk on a daily basis and see each other a few times a week. As the whole point in being in a relationship is wanting to see and spend time with your other half. Not talking for months at a time and never calling your spouse...heck you'd like to say you don't even know each other if it got that far. The "Happy medium" would be talking on a daily basis, As 90% of any relationship is about communication. Without that there isn't no relationship at all. Being happy with each other, Communication, Trust, Honesty is usually what it's all about. [ OhMyLucyDarling's advice column | Ask OhMyLucyDarling A Question ]
