is this guy interested? LONG story. sorry!

Question Posted Thursday March 11 2010, 5:46 pm

I like this guy since last semester, only to find that he's in my class this semester. yay! so, we kinda sat together (in the middle of the class) for the first few weeks. we even went out for lunch once. then one day he sat at a different seat, saying he likes seating at the edge (side of the class) better. so i sat with him. but my friend told me to be unavailable, so after that, i sat at my usual seat and he sat at his seat at the edge (just one seat apart from each other actually). sometimes, i'll sit next to him, but the next day when i sit at my usual spot, he'll have this disappointed face. then one day, i was feeling miserable so we hung out. then he asked if i wanted to have dinner. we had dinner and he paid for both our meals. as it was cold, he even lent me his jacket.
the next day, i said i plan to go xxx for spring break, and he said he wants to go too, but only if i want him to. is that considered flirting?
i feel that only when i initiate something, then something will happen. one of my friend said she knows the guy and he's really shy. another friend said he's really friendly (he came by and hugged her when he saw her), and no matter how shy he is, he'll make the first move if he likes you.
im confused.
say, is there a chance for me? because i really like him. and how can i trigger his interest? im very bad at flirting, and knowing when a guy flirts...
*sorry for the long-ass question!!!*

Normally teasing is flirting.

So is smiley faces through text message.

So are huge toothy grins.

Yes dear, he was flirting with you. If I had more information I could help you out better, but for now that's all I got for ya.

You actually might have to make the first move:)

GOOD LUCK!!:D

Well I think he really likes you so just keep sitting beside him in class go out to dinner with him and invite him to hang out once in awhile and maybe if you two hang out enough he will ask you out but before he asks you out or feels he knows you enough to even ask you out you need to be hanging out and talking to him more and i know some people would call that desperation but its not if you like someone so ya just flirt and the best way to flirt is to complement him on his looks and his clothes and personality and stuff and you can also tease him in a nice friendly funny way nothing too mean or stupid. Good luck :D
