Question Posted Sunday March 7 2010, 1:03 am

What size curling iron would I need to get waves like these? (Ex. 1 inch, 1.5 inch, etc)

Keep in mind that I have long but thin hair.

Thanks! :)

I guess that's not the best image of the look I'm after. What size curling iron would I need to get waves like these:

It does look like that's her natural hair there, so it could be hard to re-create. First I would try showering and putting a mousse or scrunching type product in your hair, and scrunching it to the desired amount of wave you want.

If that doesn't work get the biggest barrel size you can find on a curling iron and wrap your hair around it and hold. Since she has waves you might need to shake out your hair and loosen up the curls you get. You could also use a curling iron and wrap it around not using the clamp to give a wavey look.
There are also waver irons that are for waves specifically.

You might need to play around with different products and techniques to get it just right.

Good luck,

-Abby

that looks more like a blow dryer than a curling iron to me. But if you have thin hair i doubt you could do that with a blow dryer. If I were you id get a big one (like a 1.5 or 2 inch barrel) and then brush the curls out and put mousse or hairspray in it to keep it from getting flat.
