To get the most accurate results, you should wait until you are a week late for your next due period, or if you are a teen, two weeks late. (Just in case you're having an irregular month)
Of course, there are tests that say you can test sooner (if you buy this certain overpriced stick to pee on!) but wouldn't you rather go with certain accuracy? Chances of false positives are slim to none, but false negatives are far more likely.
