That depends on individual stores, their inventory, orders and where and when you frequent. Keep calling around and checking stores as that's how I ended up lucky with the original WII FIT and Balance Board.
If all you want is the new games and WII FIT software you can get it separate on its own, take it home and use your WII and original balance board.
Another alternative is to look for the original WII Fit bundle and buy this software on top if it's the balance board you can't find.
I would look at Electronics Boutique (EB GAMES) stores the most to see what they're getting in. I know in some instances they take pre-orders for games/equipment if paid up front. Ask them about what they're doing for people who can't find it.
While Nintendo can't tell you what stores will have one in stock they can give you a run down of stores in your area that are more likely to have one. Try 1-800-255-3700 and see what they say.
When an item will be in stock is based on store by store not a geographic area or state. Keep trying. There's likely a shortage due to Christmas. In a month or two they start mass producing them based on demand.
