Is Richard Simmons homosexual?
I always heard that Richard Simmons was gay. My mom use to have the Sweatin' to the Oldies work-out VHS tape she watched every day. I know Richard Simmons sounds a little high-pitched for a man but so does my best guy friend and he's not queer.
Anyway, I'm really just curious is all. Is Richard Simmons an open homosexual for sure?

I don't know if anyone is ever going to view this webpage again, but I sure hope so, as I created a throwaway account to answer it. I ended up here via a Google search as to Richard Simmons sexuality. I had always thought he was gay, but had no proof. I have to say, according to ALL other websites on the topic, the people who have posted here haven't a clue what they're talking about.
The real answer is that nobody "knows," because Simmons refuses to answer questions about his sexuality. To me, this would INDICATE, not definitely though, that he is a closeted homosexual. In my opinion, as a heterosexual man, this is fine, and probably a smart choice if he is, indeed, gay.
Now, I take exception to the comments of "Peeps." Asking "why would you belittle Richard Simmons like that" is insulting to me as a human being. The word "belittle" implies that there is something wrong with being homosexual. Maybe, if you're a very staunch Catholic, there is, in your eyes, in which case I say - get with the times! We have advanced past apes, so that we notice, now, that a) there is nothing wrong with homosexuality, and b) in some manners, it's actually NATURAL! You can see chimps and dolphins engaging in homosexual behavior, too!
Just watch your language. That kind of talk will hurt people. Just my 2 cents.

No, he is not married, nor does he have 3 children. He has 3 Dalmatians, and I'm sure they are children in his eyes.
He has denied being gay. He is a devout Catholic, and his religion severely frowns upon homosexuality. But even if he is closet-gay, he is still a totally awesome guy who devotes his life to truly helping others.

Richard Simmons has been questioned about his sexuality many times. In 2003 he denied such rumors of his sexuality.
He is said to be straight and is quite the remarkable man. People feel he is homosexual because of is brightly colored clothing and his short shorts he enjoys wearing while working out and in public. His voice is, indeed, high-pitched for a man's and he is always incredibly upbeat.

He has so much money from his videos (now over 50 versions) that he no longer has to work at all. He doesn't have to make more videos, call people, or have classes--but he does anyway! All he wants is a healthy you :) I don't know why we have to be so harsh on the man!
He had a really rough time growing up with his weight. He was 250lbs when he was a teenager. He had tried diet pills in elementary school, tried bulimia, anorexia, abusing laxatives, etc. He knows how it feels so he strives to help others in healthy ways.
