i love models hair when there not working- that greesy i just woke up look is so sexy for some reason. they balance greese and cleanliness so well, like its not oily enough to be considered dirty but its not clean eough to be considered clean.
well my hair is curly so usually I need to wash and make it a bit more wavy by straightening it under a very low heat, so of YOU want to have the Natalia Vodianova wavy hair thing look then wash it and put it in large curler to dry (roll ups) and when they are dry stray them slightly and undo the rollers and tease your hair with a large comb slightly.
If your going for the straight look then your hair is perfect read on (read on in both cases)
Shampoo and conditioners etc
right it may seem like nothing but you should get a good shampoo and conditioner because (1) your hair has to be shiny and glossy for this look, (2) its got to be healthy and beautiful, (3) it has to be soft and light fly away and smooth
so for example I use either James Brown (basics), or John Frida or theres this amazing shampoo called 'Naked' which is like eco and definity the best shampoo i've used so far. If your going for something cheaper then maybe Botanics they do pretty good things.
okay when you've sorted out your shampooing and conditioning....
after wash:
to get that glossy not dirty and not clean hair like in the pics you put, you need a hair serum and this is an absolute must have!!!
Recommend: either go for John Frida original formula serum or the Botanics (the latter is amazing and only like £3.50 a bottle - smells great too!)
put on like 2 pea sized amounts into your palms and rub together and then massage your wet washed hair through with it, particulary focusing on the tips (you want them the glossiest!) - and if you want your hair light fluffy curles and waves like Natalia do the first step after this but also spray with curling hair spray (John Frida dream curles is amazing!)
at this stage this may be enough (your going to have to experiment :)
carry on if want.....
either walk around and let your hair dry naturally or sleep on it, do not dry it with a blowdrier it will just make your hair look dry and fried!!! when its dry you can put a damage repair formula thing onto your hair that just corrects things - corrector (John Frida and James Brown have some) or just stay with a finishing shine spray!
for extra good results go out with your hair like this outside for a bit and let the wind do the magic!!!
Gemguy1 answered Sunday January 31 2010, 11:42 pm: Abby is absolutely right again! Models will tell you they NEVER wash their hair the day before a shoot because shampoo strips the natural oils that make their hair shiny and manageable. Also if you have thin hair you'll want to watch using heavy conditioners because they will weigh your hair down and make it lifeless! Other products that can be used to get beautiful shine are pomades and serums (be careful pomades are heavy! use these very sparingly). Hope this helps! DearAbby92 answered Sunday January 31 2010, 1:27 pm: I don't think they style it to be that way, I think they just leave their hair unwashed for a few days. You could try putting baby oil on your fingers and running them through your hair, concentrating on the roots.
