I'm sure you didn't injure yourself because you would have felt pain, especially when you go the bathroom. What took place is likely your hymen stretching and or tearing which can cause such sensation and the small amount of blood that you describe. If you use pads and not tampons this is likely why it hasn't happened before now.
It's not an infection either. Fingering doesn't have to involve penetration either. It can involve only clitoral stimulation or whatever you feel comfortable with but should never be painful.
