I have given alot of thought into what I want to do when I'm older. I really like the idea of designing wedding dresses. I'm doing textiles at GCSE at the moment and hopefully I'm going to carry it on onto A level where I can concentrate on wedding dresses.
I want to learn more about types of wedding dresses etc. so I can sketch out some designs. Is there anywhere online that I can learn about designing/making wedding dresses?

Dont sketch any of the lace or beading details, but pay attention to what styles of dress look good on different body types. Mermaid style dresses that poof out at the knees usually look good on very thin women, while A-line dresses look good on busty, bore curvy women. (as do others) scetch out the different sleeve types as well, (cap sleeves, thick straps, halter top, strapless, etc.
Once you've got the general sillouettes down, go crazy and start designing your own details. once youve got it on paper, get a dress doll and make it happen. Good luck!! [ steph2k10's advice column | Ask steph2k10 A Question ]
