Question Posted Saturday January 16 2010, 11:33 pm
my friend said something the other day about her thighs not touching, and she seemed kind of annoyed by it, i guess? anyways, ever since she told me this, i can't help but notice that all of the girls i go to school with, all of my friends, my family members, etc, all of their thighs touch. in case you don't know what i mean, when you stand up and put your feet together, your thighs touch at some point below your crotch. mine don't. i'm pretty skinny, and that might have something to do with it, but i've seen people skinnier than me and their thighs touch. and i just can't help but feel that i must have chicken legs or something and i feel incredibly self concious. are there any exercises i could do to make my thighs more...muscle-y, i guess? just more shapely so i don't feel so weird when i put on jeans and look down and there's a huge space between my two legs.
It doesn't make any difference if your thighs touch or not, and no one is going to judge you on it. It could be because your thin or because of the way your legs connect to your pelvis, just the way your made.
You can do squats, lunges, use machines at the gym called thigh abductors, hip abductors, etc. or use a thigh master (google it haha it's a little thing you put between your thighs and squeeze) to try to gain more muscle, but it seems not neccesary. If you have bulky thighs and thin everything else, you may seem unproportionate. Try to love your body the way it is, I'm sure it's beautiful.

But if you want to gain muscle, try just running or walking everyday. Something where your legs are moving.
**Many girls would kill for their legs not to touch, but its okay if your insecure. Try to have confidence. Everyone is built differently!
