Question Posted Wednesday January 13 2010, 6:35 pm

Why do vampires need to have their hair down?
(Like in teh baseball scene of the first movie they try to disguise bella by telling her to put her hair down)

THanks!

Bella was human then, and they told her to put her hair down to some how reduce her scent to the vampires so they wouldn't know she was human. In the book I think they told her to put it up into her cap, because as you saw in the movie when a gust of wind blew her hair it sent her scent to James.

Vampires dont ALWAYS have to have their hairdown, they just do.
But when edward told bella to put down her hair it was because he was trying to hid her neck and the scent that she was human. It was also because he was trying to cover her face more, so the vampires wouldnt realize that she wasnt as pale as them, and so that her neck would be covered so that it wouldnt be an easy target if the nomads decided to come after her.
hope i helped ! xxo.
