It can be very normal. I know that my vagina hurts the first day or so of my period (it feels like there's a lot of pressure down there or something). I am not talking about cramps... but the actual vagina. My mom says that hers does too. If I stay off my feet it feels much better. Take some Motrin or Tylenol and it should help. Also soaking in a warm bath helps too.

I had to get the ultrasound done and everything was fine. Sometimes the cramps are so hard to bare that it hurts down there as well. I find that a HOT bath really helps or a heating pad! .. but if you feel like you should see your doctor it wont be a waste of time. you want to make sure it's nothing for you. good luck! i hope you have good news.

No i don't think it's normal you should probably see your gynecologist iv'e had pain down below during my period and i went to the doctor and he wanted to send me for a ultra sound to check my ovaries and see why i was having the pain i haven't gone yet though but you should probably see the doctor if it's making you feel uncomfortable and if it's painful

Good luck! (:
