Pregnant? Period???

Question Posted Friday January 8 2010, 2:43 am

My Original question:
Help! I am 2 weeks late on my period.

I am never regular (and usually late) but this time especially, I am freaking out. I have not had sex since October, but I have done other things (in a safe manner) since my last period involving male body fluids. I am not on birth control.

In October, I had 2 periods and it was really weird. In November, I was on my period from around the 19th to the 24th. December has been super stressful for me because I have had college midterms and I found out my boyfriend of 2 years has cheated on me and I broke up with him.

Do you think I could be pregnant? Or what the chances are of becoming pregnant without having sex? I can't think of any reasons I could be pregnant. No fluids ever went inside of me.

Do you think it could have to do with doubling up on my period in October? Or the stress?

Exactly 1 year ago I had the same problem and skipped my December period all together.

I don't know what to think anymore and I'm very scared.

UPDATED*****:
It's been about 3 weeks now and a few days ago I started getting this dark red/brown discharge. It looks like old blood. It's been a lot by now and still going and this has happened before. Do you think I am okay when it comes to being worried about being pregnant? Is this a sign that I'm not pregnant? I don't really know what this is.

I've gotten the brown/red discharge type thing instead of a period before.

hellow. first off id say to ctay calm. stressing out makes your period even more irregular. and also if you have been seeing a redish brown discharge it just means your period is on its way. trust me. and if you had SAFE sex or lets call it sex games. you should not be worrying.

you usually get that when you're either about to start your period or when you just ended; its dried blood that your system is emptying out to keep from making you ill.

no, you couldn't be pregnant without any sperm going inside of you, even if you perform oral sex and swallow, you still couldn't get pregnant. since you've said you're never regular and usually late, i'd say your period is either late or not coming this month. girls skip periods all the time without being pregnant, and it may have to do with stress, and since you were stressing about midterms and whether or not you were pregnant, that could be the cause of it.

so stop stressing and start relaxing, you're fine. now if i were you, i'd do one of two things; go to the store and buy 3 pregnancy tests. take all three and if 1 says you're pregnant and the others are a negative, then you're probably not. if all of them are positive, you are. if they're all negative, obviously, you're not. science projects should always be taken in 3 tests, same with pregnancy tests. always take 3.

the other thing i'd do is go to my doctor and get a prescription for birth control pills. not only will they help you to not get pregnant if you're sexually active, but they also regulate your period. talk to your doctor about different options and get his okay on it, and his professional opinion.

good luck, and try to breathe. :)
