Internet Explorer to run slowly Is it a virus?
I need someone who is good with computers to
answer..
Whenever i go onto Myspace and go into my messages
this message appears it says
Stop running this script?
A script on this page is causing internet explorer to run slowly if it continues to run
your computer may become unresponsive
My questions are:
How can i stop this from happening?
Is this a virus?
Why is it happening?
The box keeps popping up and gives me the
option to either click yes or no

Don't click on it. Chances are it's a popup and it will lead you to a fake site and possibly give you a virus.
Make sure you have
1. put your popup blocker on when you can
2. latest virus protection
3. maybe stop on by to pcpitstop.com you can run a free test to see what is up with your PC when it is being slow. It has forum boards and stuff you can download to make your PC run faster
4. Got any old games on your computer that you don't play? DELETE THEM it takes up way to much space and can slow down your computer.
5. check your internet connection/restart your internet connection. Sometimes on the modems (or whatever you have) there is a reset button or off button. If there's an off button press it. Wait 10 seconds or so then turn it back on. this sometimes works for me.

OK well I have viruses all the time and usually dad fixes it. But if there is one thing I know, is that if there is a pop - up saying you have a virus and if you downlaod this we will fix it, DO NOT DOWNLOAD. THAT IS WHAT HAS THE VIRUS! I really hope this helped! GOOD LUCK!!!
