Only read Hopkins or Sebold novels if you have a strong stomach. These authors, especially Hopkins, don't sugar coat anything. Their books are raw almost to the point of being disturbing. They are amazingly written though, and have a lot of real emotion behind them.

While we are on the subject of disurbing books, Go Ask Alice is pretty good. It's by an anonymous author and is written in the POV of a teenage girl addicted to drugs. Perks of Being a Wallflower was one of the first novels I read in high school and it's pretty great. It was a little overly hyped up at my school, but it's still a good coming of age story.

Sarah Dessen is a good author. Her books are much lighter and usually revolve around love of some sort. This Lullaby and Just Listen are two of my favorites by her.

Anne Godbersen's Luxe series is very good. I haven't gotten a chance to read the last book yet, but the first three books were great.

Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. Her books are always interesting, and will 9 times out of 10 have a twist at the end, so be prepared! Harvesting the Heart, 19 Minutes, Vanishing Acts, and Plain Truth are some of her best, in my opinion.

Stephenie Meyer is good. Unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, I am sure you knew this one was coming. The Twilight Saga is a series of books that are really easy reads and are a love story anyone can eat up. The Host is also great though. In fact, I sort of like it better than the Twilight books.

I have to mention J.K Rowling as well. The Harry Potter novels are amazing. I started reading Harry Potter when I was only twelve years old and it is what started my love for reading novels in the first place.

If you have read Pride and Prejudice or Sense and Sensibility you might enjoy the lighter, more comical version of the classics; P&P & Zombies and S&S & Seamonsters.

Anyways, I love reading. If you are looking for a specfic genre or a follow up with more books let me know :)

Sarah Dessen and Ellen Hopkins really are both great.

Check out Alice Sebold, too. If you want a list of specific books (from her and other authors), send something to my inbox because I have a ton. I love to read :)
