I cannot stop itching!!!!!!!!!!

Question Posted Sunday December 13 2009, 9:48 am

I can't seem to stop itching. It's been going on for a week or two. I'm itchy from head to toe. It's driving me nuts. I think I might rip my skin off. I've tried allergy pills and calamine lotion. Showering works for about ten minutes. I wake up in the middle of the night just to scratch.I have scratched enough to make myself bleed. I'm scratching myself like crazy right now. It can't be poison ivy or oak, I am rarely outside. Please! What should I do. I think I am about ready to scream. Should I go to the ER?? It's getting worse as days go by. I can't stand it anymore.

It very well could be the weather, causing seriously dry skin, if this tends to happen to you around the same time every year...Lotion, lotion and more lotion...skin could be just really dry.. Calamine is mainly to heal broken skin, so you still might need that, but if you put 'moisturizing or healing' lotion on daily, like 4 times, it should help...
I had bad itching like that, and didn't find out about lotioning for a couple years.
I no longer have the problem...
Hope this helps.

go to the ER for sure.it could be something internal rather than external.you could have a reaction to soem foods youv been eating or maybe you have fleas or your allergict to your bed cover.its all a possibility go to the ER and i think theyll get a blood test done and maybe a urine test and see whats wrong.i mean if its getting worse then you should go for sure.

it sounds really bad i feel so sorry for you.i hope it stops soon

Yes i do think you should go to the ER if it's
bothering you that much the doctors in the hospital will be able to help you tell them that you've used pills and lotion even tried taking a shower and none of it's helped :)

I hope your itching stops!
