OpenOffice's layout is different from MS Office, but you should not have any problem with opening MS Office files and your files will be readable by MS Office, too. I suggest you invest in buying Microsoft Office for your Mac.
I'm not sure if Keynote comes with that, but get Keynote, because it's the Mac version of Powerpoint.
