My wife gets them occasionally, her birth control doesn't always play nice. She's had them last as short as three days and as long as a few weeks. Something to keep in mind, it won't stop hurting until well after the infection is gone. You'll be a bit irritated downstairs, so go easy on yourself and let that heal. I had one a couple of months ago, I feel your pain. You do not need to go to the doctor though. Just go to a drug store and pick up some monastat. Use it for 3 days or however long it says and it will go right away! They are somewhat expensive though, around $20 i think. Some people actually use yogurt (natural yogurt, plain not flavored!) and stick it up there to cure the yeast infection. But i do not suggest doing that at all lol. good luck.
