Question Posted Monday November 9 2009, 9:10 pm

hey so i'm 19..a sophomore in college and i'm having trouble with working out every day & eating healthy because of all the work i have. I go to the gym every day during most weeks, but not during the weekend usually. i always get hungry after dinner even if i eat a bigger dinner. i don't usually eat a big breakfast or lunch, but i feel like i am just gaining weight. i'm not happy with the way i look and i need to stay on track with some sort of diet. it's hard with the dining halls and the food in our room. please help! i need some suggestions of diet/exercise plans to do! thank you

You NEED to be eating a good breakfast! You've probably heard it before but it really does help. Eating in the morning is what gets your metabolism going. You probably feel hungry after dinner because your metabolism kicks in right after you just ate. Also, eat some sort of protein 3 times a day, that will really help boost your energy. Remember you can only take in 27 grams of protein at any one sitting, the rest turns into fat. Good sources of protein are eggs, peanut butter, any kind of meat, nuts, or you can buy protein bars or shakes to eat alone or with meals. Snacking throughout the day on stuff like granola, apples, rice cakes, carrots, etc. will help you not feel so hungry at the end of the day.

Hope some of these tips help!

First thing that is said about diets is that if you cut meals out, you gain weight. You should be have at least 5 meals a day. 3 big meals and 2 in between. The 2 are just little snacks like a granola bar or a tub of apple juice. I would cut out pop if you are drinking it, if you drink alot of water, I would cut it down and start drinking juice. That way you have vitamins getting in your system. Exercising builds your muscles, which results in weight gain not in fat but muscle. If have to take a walk on the weekends or do yoga to keep you relaxed, your in college so you definitely need to stay relaxed.
