Dieting

Question Posted Friday November 6 2009, 8:08 pm

18/f
So I gained weight from the craptastic food in my cafeteria (no wonder they call it the freshmen 15). I think I gained about 5lbs, which I hope isn't from the food because I just started exercising again + doing weights. It's kind of a slap to the face after losing 15 lbs. (I'm 135lbs right now)

I don't know how to balance my food out, since the food at the 'deli' area is so fattening and the only other foods include crackers+tuna dip, cereal and salad. There is no normal meat that isn't deep fried or coated in sketchy gravy. Would the only alternative for me be eating salad and crackers for the rest of university? ): I don't know how I'm going to lose another 15-20lbs by the end of university. Most of all, I want to fit into a size 2-4, instead of 6.

Other than that, I'm so far planning to exercise at least 3-4 days a week, for about an hour or so. On some days it'll be more than an hour for weights (45-60 minutes of cardio, 15-30 minutes or so of weights).

haha freshmen 15? u can always cut a bit of sick stuff from your meal.... like leave it unfinished but keep it balanced. 5lbs isnt much.. if youre exercising try changing your routine, after losing 15lbs your body mustve adapted to the same exercise so switch it a bit and that 5lbs will be gone. Heck i think most of that is probably just water from the yummy sodium packed junk at the canteen. Just remember if you dont sweat that means its lamexercise.

If that doesnt work, go get a lunchbox, cook your own food... and also put cute widdle butterfly stickers heeeee heee. And write your name infront of it too... ahhh and add a day to your week's routine 5 days a week with 2 days rest and you can eat the cafeteria junk and still lose weight, you can do it only if you havent starved your muscles so dont shy on fat carbs and protein. Catabolism will kill your long term goal.

Okay so you definitly should exercise like you said!! And yeah like just try to eat the more (fattening) foods like 2-3 times a week and not all 5 or 7 lol. Eat more salads and light foods on certain days. But make sure to eat enough and always drink water! But you didnt gain much weght if you only gained 5 pounds but I totally understand how you feel, I have been eating sooo much fast food and I dont even live at my college for my first year lol its crazy..but I definitly and you definitly need to balance out diets. Im sure your college has fruits you can have in the morning, and vegetables and healthy foods! Hope I Helepd :)
