Dry skin lotion

Question Posted Thursday October 22 2009, 9:41 pm

is it true that lotion dries out skin the more you use it? because your body thinks it is getting enough moisture that it doesn't need to make any "oil" anymore?

Yes! Only use it when your skin IS dry, not when it is unnessary.

THis is simular to chapstick and lips. Only use it when your lips are dry or they will crack!

Over use of any moisturizer will make your skin dependent. That includes chap stick.

Lotions, lip balms, etc., aren't meant to be used all of the time. They are a medicine for your skin, and you don't take medicine unless you need it. To do so will make you sick, just as overuse of lotion makes your skin "sick" because it's dependent on the lotion.

Hope that makes some sort of sense.
