Question Posted Wednesday September 30 2009, 1:43 am
Ok I just want to know if this is how it works. I usually don't wear make up because of this:
When I wear foundation I feel like my face looks powdery and I can't stand when I see people and they look like they dipped their face in powder...i feel like that's not how they really look, and usually it's not. They look totally different when they take the makeup off.
When I just wear eye shadow without foundation I feel like the regular skin stands out from the "made up" part here is a photo to demonstrate:
Now my face is not as oily as her's. So if I go out and I am just wearing lip gloss and I take a picture my face looks normal, but if I put eyeshadow on without foundation, then my picture looks just like that. That is how drastic it feels to me. With me though, my small bumps show and of course if I get a pimple that stands out (at least to me) and you know it just doesn't BLEND IN.
Therefore I am in a jam...I was watching a video about eyeshadow and the girl put the concelear on and then brushed it into her skin and then put the eye shadow on and there wasn't a drastic difference between her face and her natural oils and the place where the makeup was. But it was a video so I couldn't see that well. So I was wondering if concealer is the trick. I would love to wear eyeshadows and lip gloss without the foundation, and still have my face look smooth and everything blend in. I have really good smooth skin, I have some small like heat bumps here and there but I know the concelear can cover that...so is this how it works? :) Thanks

Daintree answered Thursday October 1 2009, 1:12 am: Foundation is supose to blend the skin tone so it 's even colour & hide freckles or any inperfections. It is also a base for next layer of make up eye shadow blush lipsick eyebows & contour. Powder over this layer sets it all and matts the shine. You can use concealer over your eye lids and under eye too if you have dark circles. some cheap concealers are cluggy so try a decent product I use a liquid application comes in a same shape container as a gloss lipstick with it's own small brush but I blend it in with a round make up sponge. hope this helps. If you just want to wear eye shadow this is a good base for under it. [ Daintree's advice column | Ask Daintree A Question ]
