Question Posted Saturday September 5 2009, 6:17 pm
I have been thinking, and I want to know if Im the only one, anyway its just sickening to me the generation we are in. What happened to the nice old fashioned guys, and clean tv. Has anyone seen music videos lately? On mtv? I feel disgusted. Im 17 and I most certaintally don't want my future kids to grow up this way. I just heard a song the other day that said "cream on the inside, clean on the outside" are you kidding me?! And what is up with the under aged drinking? I know so many people that just feel like its okay to just drink their brains out and get completely wasted, and just "do it" at such young ages and with whoever they want. I realize not everyone is like this, I most definately am not, but it just makes me sad and I feel like almost nobody cares, and some people think its okay. :-(
I think just knowing that I'm not the type of person to have a huge party with a bunch of teenagers & put it all over Facebook, or the type to listen to music about gangs, and date rape makes me feel good. If other people want to do that, it's not my decision. My approval for them to live their life is not needed, and the same goes for me. I don't need anyone to approve of how I live. Nobody will ever like everything about someone or something.
I agree that the world has definitely changed, but I think it's because people have become (for the most part) more open minded and less nosy. I do feel bad for children that are born into this era because kids these days are more disrespectful & selfish than ever, but it's the parenting, and as long as their parents don't leave them to be raised by the media they should be okay. Kids will act how raised. If hardly raised, they will act like disrespectful, selfish, arrogant hooligans. If raised properly, they will be polite, courteous & kind.
I just think that if you're proud of who you are, what others do should not concern you. You're not like them & they're not like you. Live your life. Do not associate yourself people that you find irresponsible or negative. Don't watch channels that have programming that you disagree with. It's pretty simple.
It makes me sad too, but there's not much anyone can do about the way people live. People will continue to do what they want & that is out of our control. Just worry about yourself & live the way you want to. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]

And the REALLY sade thing is, there's nothing you can do. So you basically have to watch as our future crashes and burns and you can't do anything about it because not enough teenagers actually care. Yes, it's very sad, but you really just have to accept that this is how it is and no one can change it :( the best thing you can do is teach your future children to have strong morals and a consience[sp?]...Sorry to say it, but you're right. Almost nobody cares :( and that's what's so hard to accept. Almost nobody cares, so nothing is changing.

Why can't we have any clean, wholesome music videos, or even songs for that matter? It seems like everything is trying to go for the 'sex' image. I don't want my future kids to be raised in this madness either!
There's so many more things I'd like to go on about, but I shouldn't make this response too long, I suppose.
