You pretty much answered your own question here: you were tense. That'll make it less enjoyable. Also since it was your first time it's obviously something you weren't used to. Maybe ask him to start out more slowly. And it may seem obvious, but make sure his nails are smooth.
Yes, you could have broken your hymen. But it could have broken years ago, too. There's really no way to tell, but breaking your hymen doesn't equal losing your virginity.

he would have probibly damaged it abit..the reason why it hurt could be becuase you werent wet enough or he used more than one finger and tried to force it up there..the more wet/lubed you are the less it hurts :)
