I have straight dirty blond hair and im getting a body wave perm before school starts again. Right now i usually either have my hair in a messy bun or i scrunch it or straighten it i only usually use Aussie Instant Freeze Gel. So my question is
1. What will i need to do once i get the body wave perm as in do i need to Blow dry it..ext because right now i don't blow dry my hair usually. Also What products should i use or buy once i get it done?
2. What types of hair styles can i do once i get it done?
Anyway, I guess I can try to answer your questions now. First of all, a body wave perm isn't really a perm. It's not going to give you curls, it's going to give you body and texture. The point of a body wave perm is to make hair appear thicker and to give it volume. It will also make your hair much easier to style as opposed to limp, lifeless hair. Depending on the length of your hair, your stylist will probably only take the rod around your sections at most 2 or 3 times. You will be able to do whatever you want to do with your hair. You can straigthen it, curl it, scrunch it, whatever you want.
Once you get your perm, it's going to be stripped of moisture. You will need to use a deep conditioning shampoo and you will want to find some that is for "sleek and shiny" hair. You can blow dry your hair, but only do it if you have too. When you do blow dry, use a leave-in-conditioner spray. Also, buy a diffuser, and never blow dry your hair without it. Buy satin pillows as well if your hair gets frizzy.
Here is a website that has all kinds of information on perms:
I'm not sure what you mean by what kind of hair styles you can do, because I'm pretty sure you can do just about anything that you'd normally do if you didn't have a perm(ponytails, scrunching, braids, etc)
hope that helps
