so i'm 19 yrs old, female and i want to try fake eye lashes! i was just wondering though, are they hard to put on? how exactly do you put them on? do they look fake? where can i get them?
just all these questions are running through my mind and i want to know if they're worth buying! i have pretty long eyelashes now but i want them to look fuller, and even longer. plus do you still have to wear mascara on your real eyelashes or no?
Basically, they are not that hard to put on once you get used to the procedure. They are tricky at first because the glue can get sticky and everywhere. They are worth it. You should still wear real mascara on both eyelashes, real and fake to make them blend in together and you should curl them too. There are different kinds of false eyelashes, ranging from natural-looking to dramatic ones with feathers and jewels. You can get natural ones and ones you can wear clubbing at any drugstore or beauty store like Ulta or Sally's. If you want those crazy ones, go to Sephora.
If you don't want to apply fake eyelashes daily, there are some good mascara brands:
Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara
Christian Dior: DiorShow Black Out Waterproof
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig
Majolica Majorca Lash Expander

Go to a cosmetic store (preferred mac) and have them put them on for you. You can even buy stuff that looks like fake lashes; here's a link for plush mascara that looks like fake eyelashes- [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)
I also found this from ehow.com:
Curl your eyelashes with Shu uemura's eyelash curler. It is the BEST eyelash curler on the market. Shu uemura is a makeup brand loved by many professional makeup artists. You can buy it through sephora. Put on couple coats of mascara after eyelashes are curled.
You want to trim the false eye lash extensions before gluing it to your eyes. Put it on your eyes and trim off the excess portions. Sometimes the false eyelashes are way too long and that it will give you a very unnatural look. Trim off accordingly.
Which leads me to...
Do they look fake?: Some say to trim the fake lashes because sometimes they're too long and will appear fake. However, If you put them on right, they won't look fake! :)
Are they worth buying?: I don't use them because I prefer mascara, but people who do use them seem to not have a problem with wearing them. Ask people around you (friends, family, etc.) if they've ever used them and if their worth it all. You can even ask females at cosmetic stores.
Do you have to wear mascara on the real lashes?: I found this on a helpful site (ehow.com)..
Place a thin layer of eyelash glue on the base of the false eye lashes. It is easier if you use a tooth pick to apply the glue. Let it dry a little bit. When the glue starts to turn clear, put it on your eyes. Place the false eye lashes at the base of your own lashes and press it at the inner and outer corner of your eye.
Hold it there for 10 seconds to make sure that the false eye lashes are now on top of your real lashes. Put on another coat of mascara on your real lashes to blend in with the fake ones for a more natural look. Match the color of the mascara with the color of the false eye lashes. For example, if your false eyelashes are dark black, then I recommend Maybelline's great lash blackest black mascara.
Use either a pencil or liquid eye liner right at the inner corner to connect and blend the false eyelashes to your eyes.

They should come with a little tube of adhesive, and you put that along the lash line and stick right over YOUR natural lash line.
They look fake if you buy really big ones, even the smaller ones might look fake (I've only used them to perform)
You can get them at any pharmacy, near the make-up and stuff.
