clear skin

Question Posted Thursday August 6 2009, 4:47 pm

I am going to be 15, and I am like the only one of my friends with a bad complextion, and acne. I hate it!!! It is all the time, what is something you can by at walmart that will be to the same effect as proactive! My mom won't use credit cards.

Neutrogena has a face wash called "Stress Control" that works really well. I'd recommend trying it.

Also, like the columnist below said, you should also stop wearing make up. Skip any liquid foundation (stick to powder- it's a lot less harmful for your skin/pores).

And make sure you drink a lot of water and don't eat too much junk food. Water is really good for your skin, and junk food (obviously) isn't.

Good luck!

Dear "clear skin"

I totally know how you feel. My three best friends, aside from being uber gorgeous, all have beautiful blemish free skin. One of them is just lucky and doesn't break out, and the other two use really expensive products from the dermatologist (you could consider that, some of them aren't horribly pricey). I tried EVERYTHING on the walmart shelves, and I still had disgusting acne, even proactiv didn't work for me. However, when I started using just a simple clean and clear wash, and a clean and clear astringnent, I saw awesome improvements.
Keep it simple, wash once in the morning, and once and night, and follow with the astringnent, and I betcha you will see a difference.

Also, I have some other tips. If your hair is in your face a lot, it can cause you to break out. Also, if you touch your face alot (to like pick at your pimples, or when you fall asleep, you rest your hand under your face) that can also cause acne. Another really big cause is oily shampoos and conditioners. So try switching to Head and Shoulders (they actually have some amazing scents) and you'll see that your pimples around your hair line or temples will go away.

And I know I sound like a parent, but use sunscreen!! And oil free sunscreen if you can.

Goodluck!

xoxo

you can spend tons of money on face creams and what not but the true secret to beautiful skin, is just keeping it clean. Don't wear face make up (foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer) because all it does is clog your pores. Although there are some makeup brands that are said to not clog your pores, not wearing any makeup is better. and your only 15, you dont need to alter your complexion.
and after that, the rest is simple...wash your face 3 times a day(when you wake up, come home from school, and before going to bed.) just use a bar of Dove soap, and a small towel. Do this everyday and you will see results. good luck
