Head ache, please help

Question Posted Tuesday August 4 2009, 7:42 pm

firstly, I am 15/f.
I get alot of headaches. This is probably because I have to wear glasses, and when I forget to put them on or take them off for a sec my head starts to hurt. It could also be because I hit my head a couple weeks ago and it has been hurting sinse then (but thats kinda unlikely).

But it could also be because I have been feeling sad lately and its been making me feel physically down as well (this could be it, I'm not sure)

But either way I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or techniques to make head aches go away. I am away from school today because my head is killing me and I don't like missing school so any suggestions would really help.

PS. I know some of u will say to talk about what is making me sad so that my pains will go away, but I am doing that already x]
and all I really need to know is remedies or techniques to make head pains and eye pains go away.

Thank you in advance and any suggestions are appreciated :)

I have at least one suggestion for you:
It might not be a bad idea to have your glasses perscription checked out. Your eyes may have changed and that would make your current lenses a huge strain on your eyes. Glasses come and on and off a lot can make you a bit sick, but if it's constant and immediate for you, you should get your eyes checked, and the fit of your glasses should be checked too.

Whens the last time you had your eyes checked? Your suppose to get a eye exam every year to see if your eye site has changed. If its changed significantly then this could be whats causing your headaches. If its not that then its probably just stress or the times you hit your head. Just take Tylenol, Motrin, or Advil when you get your headaches. They should go away soon. If you've had this headache for a week continually go see a doctor, you could have hurt your head worse then you think

Its possible that everything you just listed combined is causing those awful headaches too. I know how you feel, I get sooo many headaches. Head on really really works. Its non perscription, you can take it with medicine, and you can apply as little or as much as you need. Also, advil saves my life haha (liquid gels are faster working I hear, but I have solid.)
But one of the best methods I have ever had for getting rid of headaches is wearing "the cold mask" they are gel filled face masks that you can put in the refrigerator to turn cold and get rid of headaches, or you can put them in the microwave to get rid of congestion.
As for the emotional aspects of headaches, sometimes we can overwork ourselves, have you been undergoing alot of stress lately? Going to bed late and not getting enough sleep can also be a cause. So can eating/drinking too much caffine. Let yourself relax every once in a while, everyone needs a brake. :-)
Good luck!
