Hair

Question Posted Monday August 3 2009, 9:43 pm

My hair is thick, coarse, curly, frizzy, and never shiny. I love the way it looks when it's wet, but as soon as it starts to dry you can see how dull and frizzy it is. When I look up curly hair styles, almost every person is wearing their hair down, which I haven't done for years. It simply doesn't work. Lately I've been half-french-braiding my hair, but I want something new to try. Any tips?

This product was a miracle for me :] It seems expensive, about $20 a bottle, but in reality that bottle lasts me for about six months, and I use a good amount of it every day.

Also, pay attention to the shampoo and conditioner you're using. Curly hair is often very dry, which could explain the dullness and frizziness. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, or try one made for curly hair. Get your hair trimmed, because split ends make hair look terrible. Try braiding your hair when it's barely damp (and after applying a serum, mousse, or gel) and leave it in overnight. It may not work, but for some people it creates perfect waves.

It'll take awhile to find "your" perfect product. Whether it's a gel or mousse, you'll know when the product works for you because your hair will look amazing. Regardless of what you decide on, I recommend always using a serum first, because it really helps to make your hair behave :]

You could try to straighten it with a straightner or if you like the curly look you could try a hair quencher which would make it a more up and cleaner curly look. You could try a hair cut with layers, If your hair is naturally curly layers should not effect the curls.
