Okay well I'm 13 and weigh like 100-103 pounds. I think I'm fat. All of my friends don't but I do. They are all super skinny. I really want to go to a gym and work out like on the tredmils but my parents don't think it's a necessity but I do. I'm also only 4'11 almostt 5'0. I do eat somewhat healthy but lots of sugary things witch I am doing my best to stop. I may think of dieting but I need suggestion to lose weight. I want to get back in the low 90s or mid 80s. No time limit so any suggestions?

K3587 answered Tuesday July 28 2009, 9:59 pm: At 5' even and 103 lbs, your BMI is 20.11. Getting below 18.5 would make you underweight, which would happen at 94 lbs or less. I don't think you need to lose weight. Instead, I think you should focus more on toning. Do exercises that target whatever area you find the most flab. I'm not the guy to ask about targeting areas, I tend to do the full circuit at the gym.
At your age, you don't need to worry much about what you eat, as long as you put some effort into working it off. Just focus on portion control. Eat until you are full, and try to avoid eating more than that. Wait before going back for seconds, you may not feel like it after about 15 minutes. Avoid unnecessary snacking. A lot of people eat when they're bored. Learn to realize that and have another vice instead.
It won't take much effort to see a difference. Make yourself a simple exercise routine and watch what and how much you eat. [ K3587's advice column | Ask K3587 A Question ]
