18/f period question

Question Posted Sunday July 26 2009, 12:29 pm

So .. I'm 18 graduated this yeaar yada yada. I've had my period since sixth grade.

My cycle is so screwed up it's from like 30 - 45 days sometimes. My last period was 6/20 and I still haven't gotten it.

I'm not pregnant or anything, and I'm not taking birth control because I dont want to (I'm not having sex right now anyways)

Thats not my point -- I'm just wondering why my cycle is so long and always changes so drastically?

I dont have that much stress or anything either, so it's just confusing I guess.

Every girl's period is different. I had a friend who's period was so heavy, that she passed out from losing so much blood. I also have friends that can go years without a period and then all of a sudden have one. Others have periods two or three times a month.

What do all of these girls have in common? They are all on birth control pills and have a normal flow now.

You should consider birth control. It's not just for preventing pregnancy. Many virgins take the pill without any plans on having sex any time soon. It will regulate your period, and make your monthly visit much more bearable.

Hormones is the deciding factor with what kind of period you will have. When you are on the pill, it regulates your period to make it much lighter. You will probably have a 4-7 day period every month with a medium to light flow.

Just consider it. :)
