Can I use coconut oil instead of regular vegetable oil? I wanted to make some brownies so I bought the box mix from the store. It calls for a 1/2 cup of regular vegetable oil, 2 eggs, and 1/4 cup of water. I thought of taking coconut oil and warming it up a little (as it's sort-of solidified now but when it's warmed up it's very, well, oily) and using it instead of vegetable oil. Is that acceptable or does it ruin the recipe on the box mix of brownies?

It would make the brownies taste like coconut brownies. If you would like that sort of thing, then go ahead. You never know if you don't try. ]
I HIGHLY suggest you don't use coconut oil, you can, however it makes the brownies taste kinda funky. Try other alternatives like..
-canola oil
-melted butter
-applesauce [i know it sounds gross, but its not!]
-melted shortening
hope i helped! If you need anything else, feel free to inbox me :] good luck and have fun. xxo. ]
